As a noob.

I can't find any builds that lets me make this game easy. I wish people would update PvX.

It's just that when GW2 will be released finding a party will be even harder...

But yeah, it's going pretty well with 7 heroes...

Zerg power!

That reminds me the old days in the tombs B/P teams, when MMs were not limited to 10 minions.

I see you're a ranger. We have a lot of friendly and knowledgeable people in the ranger forum that could nudge you in the right direction, but there is a heroes subforum as well.

Well it's the end of day two. I got one remnant from Shadow Nexus (7hero having finally provided the impetus for me to unlock Razah and get the skills necessary for Spiritway), vanq'ed Mount Qinkai (which got me enough Luxon faction to move forward on the Luxon side of the plot) and then finished off the last 5 mishes I needed for Protector of Cantha. I'm actually beginning to consider that I might go for Vanquisher, since clearing one zone is no longer a 3-hour, 4-guildie endeavor (MQ was obscenely easy... I was the party's only death when I dash-RtL'ed into an Island Guardian with my healers trailing too far behind me).

I did have some concern when I realized that if one of my guildies were to ask to join me, I would have trouble figuring out how to fit them in my build...

So what have you all accomplished?

I haven't played as much as I usually would in any given 48-hour period... the arthritis in my mouse hand is really driving me bonkers today. Yay for massive seasonal weather shifts. LOL

But, I have done each of the new ZV's. I just finished Factions last week, and I had one mission I needed masters on (Tahnnaka Temple - that's been sitting on my shoulder poking me in the ear for a while LOL) and the Kurzick mission, Eternal Grove, to complete. I've done both, with masters, using just my heroes - only had to do them each once. Hooray! So I not only finished filling my Shiro's Return book which gave me a nice 40k boost to my Kurzick track (Luxon is already r4), but I got my Cantha title as well. Now to do it all again in HM!

I also did the first couple of quests in FoW, just to see if I could. Had no trouble with them - though I was a bit miffed I didn't get a single shard drop. LOL

My team build really isn't much different than what I'd run when partied up with the couple of people I usually play with. I have found that being able to take both Gwen & Norgu (Panic & PsyIn) is rather handy, as is having both Dunky & Tahlkora (RoJ & - I think - Healing Burst). Then I've got Olias as an MM, Razah as an Explosive Growth bomber, Xandra with SoGM and me with an SoS variation I'm comfortable with.

I wouldn't say we're necessarily just rolling through everything, but I do feel as if there's very little we couldn't get through with a bit of tweaking and experimentation - neither of which I'm afraid of.

So yeah, me likey!

Well today I found an added benefit.. helping a friend who hadn't geared or runed many heroes up I was able to add 6 of my fully equipped ones to our group. This is going to be a nice way to group with newer players who haven't yet acquired full hero sets, skills and gear.

Also had fun doing Battle for LA with me on War and my friend Derv. Used a resto Razah, SoS Xandra, panic Gwen and MBomb/rit necro. No probs, was a lot of fun.

I'm curious to know how others are enjoying (or not LOL) the game play using the full hero parties?
Cool, i have to admit its a breeze in non-eye of the north districts. In Eye of the North itself its a must to bring shelter!

Have you tried any team builds you have found particularly useful?

Standard balanced build (mesmers + necroes) for now

Do you feel like you'll continue using the full hero parties instead of H/H even after the novelty has worn off?
Of course, they are way more customizable then henchmen.

Have you discovered any interesting combinations you wouldn't have previously considered?
Durr mostly standard combinations, conjure warriors + mark of rodgort/ splinter weapon + strength and honor, dervish healers/dmg dealers + a few minion masters (the enchantments removals in combination with avatar of dwayna gives incredible party heal. For the rest i will try to create non-standard builds (out of the box builds).

What sort of places have you tried out the full hero party - and were those attempts successful or failures of epic proportions?
Zaishen vanquish area's, they tend to work fine.

What are you enjoying most about having 7 heroes?
Build wars!!!!! You can now make 1 of the most crazy synergy team configurations no one every imagined.

And most importantly... have you gone broke trying to outfit them yet?
most are upgraded before the update. I think the people who just run sabway/discord way are buying upgrades for their heroes.

Using this currently:

2x pro derv frontline, grenth (wind+scythe+myst), dwayna (earth+scythe+myst)
1x standard MM build w/some resto heals
1x non-standard reaper Mop
1x standard panic
1x standard ST rit
1x non-standard UA w/heals
1x your character, run anything you want...

I'm loving it Was always a lone wolf anyway so, for me, it's a great boon - The Lone Wolf's Boon.

Yesterday spent most of the day on GW and was seriously fried at the end of it - logged off and watched half of "Inception" then went to bed. I did the right thing, don't want to be one of these guys that games for three solid days and then dies.

Just tried out a normal mode DoA. Started at City and that went fine, then kept going and did veil and gloom. Got my damn ass into Foundry but failed in the 3rd room.

Haven't yet bought the Merc pack but know I will, even though I can't justify it. I find the normal heroes are enough for me. It's like being a kid in a sweet shop - really impressed with this update.

For me, my goals now are (all NM for now): Underworld, at least getting to Dhuum (never done that) and trying someway to beat Foundry - maybe a Soul Twisting, explosive growth MM rit (ppl might "lol" at an MM in foundry but I'm an MM nut and usually like to have one in the mix - as long as he does something else as well it's not a complete waste) - good thread on here about hero builds incorporating ST.

I'll try a FoW in a while, just for the hell of it.

I have not done much with 7 heroes. But i have done some test runs with 7 heroes and some new mercenaries. I love it. But most of the time i play with 3 other guildies but i like that i have control over the skills my heroes have.

I'm very happy with the 7 hero update. Whereas I have no problem pugging for zmissions (I like the company), and have three leg.vanquishers (all H/H before this update), UW and FoW have only rarely been accessible. Last night I completed FoW on my rit (getting r1 survivor with it) with a hero team, and it was great......took me two hours, but I was able to go afk during it, and could pause to enjoy the scenery when I wanted without worrying about annoying other players. Next I'll venture into the UW.
I'll still go with pugs when the mood takes me, but I'm happy that this update has opened up parts of the game to me that have had limited accessibility before.

But apparently GW is a single-player game now :-P

And yeah, I'm as guilty as anyone - hardly any guildies or friends still playing, I don't want a new guild (old guild will be revived for GW2)... and I just CBA with PuGs these days. It's just sad, when you think back to the glory days...
welcome to GW

Thanks, I searched around, tested a few, but I can't find GW easy as the people in the forum still say.

With an instanced, team-oriented game that had to buffer PvE with AI, those "days" were numbered. Heroes didn't kill them, either.

I'd wager fewer people would be playing today if non-ideal henchmen remained the only party filler. Prophecies was a nightmare with randoms, and without an active guild it was the only way to get through it. My friend would have hated it if I coerced her to play then, but a few years later she went on her own to buy Nightfall; she was quickly hooked.

The "glory" is different depending on who you ask. Personally I've never had this much fun with the game as it is today.

With the 7 hero update I've been more motivated to do VQ. And with the new ZVQ bounties, it's even greater. For now, that's one of the things I've seen as the more positive points of this update.

Most who are saying GW is too easy now have been playing for a number of years. The basic and involved stratagies are now simple. With the adding of 7 Hero Parties it has increased the KABOOM power ingame.

On Topic: Love 7 Heros. VQ without pulling my hair out.
Using 3Nec, 2 Rit, Gwen and Ele.

I have been using 6 heroes and 2 accounts for a long time, so been there done that.

The problem with most people is that they have not pitted their 7-heroes against the toughest areas of the game (i.e. HM elite areas), that is why they are saying PvE is easy. Since I am spending most of my time in the elite areas, having already beaten the game in all campaigns a long time ago, PvE is still not that easy.

Agreed, it's possible to get through relatively unscathed but you need to be smart and can't just charge in and cspace your way through like you can in beginner missions.

I'd like to see people get through some of the elite missions 'without getting below 50% ever'

Damn, that's impressive.

I think I've vanquished...nine or ten areas since the update? Half Tyria, half Cantha (Elona's already over and done with). I suppose if I didn't spend the day dealing with kids looking for Pokemon, I could have done more, but meh

Seriously, between the Dervish update and 7 heroes, I'm just having a blast flying through things...it's great.
